We had SUCH a good time last summer in Red Hook playing for our friends Supria and Mike at The Liberty Warehouse last summer. They asked us to lead them down the aisle in a second line parade, and we happily obliged!!
It’s looking pretty snowy in the Tri-State area today. We thought we’d share our favorite wintry-mix jazz standard in case you needed some motivation to get out of your warm bed. Enjoy some Ella Fitzgerald!
If you’ve seen the Stompers at a show or a private event we’ve played, then you’ve heard the trumpet of our fearless bandleader Mike Sailors.
Join us and him on January 31st at our Upper East Side home, Cavatappo, for a night of celebration and music! Mike is turning 34, and he’ll have a great band (made up of some of the stompers) in tow.
Cavatappo has GREAT food, and of course the music will be grand. Join us on the 31st from 9-11!
Drop us a line and let us know if you plan on attending! We’ll make sure you get a spot close to the band.
We’ll be appearing at The House of Wax (located in the brand-spankin’ new Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Brooklyn) on December 15th and 16th, where we’ll be providing the music for their premiere of La La Land.
The Alamo Drafthouse, for the uninitiated, is a really hip movie theatre from Austin, Texas. They have a great menu and an awesome selection of local and imported beers. The House of Wax is located inside the theatre, and is a funky little dive bar – perfect environs for us!
Each night, we’ll be playing from 7-11pm. There’s no cover, and you don’t need to purchase a ticket to come see us, but we highly suggest you check out La La land, as it’s a great film. We may even do some songs from the soundtrack – who knows!
Meet Christi Gehrisch!
Christi holds down the vocal chair in the Lowdown Stompers, as well as handles most of the booking for the band. Odds are when you contact the band, Christi is on the other line ensuring that your event goes off without a hitch.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Christi got her start with the prestigious Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra – a band comprised of Ohio’s most talented young musicians.
Since moving to New York, she’s performed all over the Tri-State area with groups of her own as well as the Stompers. She also books one of NYC’s most fun jazz venues, Cavatappo, located at 89th and 1st ave in the Upper East Side.

Our new friend Jean-Pierre Uys created a hip little video featuring photos from a recent wedding the Stompers played at and our take on the classic Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen. Check it out below, and thanks Jean-Pierre!
Join the Stompers own Christi Gehrisch for a night of decadence and debauchery, care of The Carnegie Club!
Ticket info, here. Better hurry, as tickets are going fast!
Hello out there!
The Stompers will be back at the legendary Carnegie Club (156 W. 56th St., New York, NY 10019) on Friday the 8th. If you love old cigar bars, expertly crafted cocktails and old-timey jazz, then you better join us for what’s sure to be a good night.
There’s no cover, and the music is for 8-11!
Hello everyone out there in radio land!
Given the spirit of the season, we’d like to extend a special thanks to our friends and clients all across the globe. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
After a hectic fall season complete with 2 short tours taking us down the East Coast as well as New Orleans, we’re returning to our home base in NYC, The McKittrick Hotel (Home of Sleep No More) for an evening of smokin’ hot jazz. Join us at the Manderley Bar at 10:30 for one set of music that will surely get you on your feet.
